Goodbye to a friend! I was fortunate enough to meet another individual who came to help out on the Me-Jujube farm from America. He came here through an organization called WWOOF that sends volunteers to farms to help out. He may be older, but we had no problems getting along! My speed of work is quite slow on Shu-Huei's farm, but this guy is a machine. For example, in the time I completed the weeding of 1 tree, he completed 5...He left early to explore Taipei before heading home because there are some things you should do before leaving Taiwan.

Nearing Jose's farewell, Big Boss Shu-Huei treated us to a very filling meal of hotpot, and it was quite the experience as I had never had it before. We all had our individual burners and we could decide the meat and place the vegetables and other food as we liked while controlling the heat. I was glad to see hong cha (black tea) available for refills, but sure didn't need to drink much as Jose was quick to see the next table drinking Heineken and purchased some Taiwanese Classic beer. I chose beef and the meal was DELICIOUS. Jose loves to drink, I'm pretty sure he drank every night. Since it was his last night before leaving, the crew decided to drink. We were sure to stop by a 7/11 to buy some snacks. We were originally planning to drink in front of the convenience store with the old men, but someone had passed away next door, so we just stayed home to drink.

I was also presented with an opportunity to learn from baristas on how to drip coffee, so I helped out for one day at Lao Jia, the Old Home! As a frequent coffee drinker, it was a wonderful learning experience.
