Hualien Update: Keep it Clean Folks

Everytime I go out either to eat or play, I'm the one you see organizing the dirty plates in a restaurant, or wiping the table before sitting down. It's not that I am addicted to cleaning, but I like to keep myself clean and leave the place clean for others to use. Many of you will be agreeing that you do this frequently. Unfortunately, there are those that don't think much and forget to think about the effects of their garbage. With summer rolling many head to the beach. People walk, childrens may run and your garbage may hurt them. Make sure to throw out your garbage in the right place everyone! In some way, I can understand why you may throw it out on the beach as there is no trash can near by, BUT this does not validate your actions! I would highly suggest everyone to bring a plastic bag with you on your beach trips and throw it out at home or a trash can, but not on the beach PLEASE. Recognizing the issue, they have implemented a monthly beach clean-up. You can see surfers, surfing students, and just people that want to enjoy a clean beach come together to clean up. All of us received a large plastic bag and gloves for safety! You never know what you might be touching... On that note, I fortunately picked up some garbage? Or I guess, unfortunately had to pick up a used pad that females use. Y'all need to remember that "one man's garbage is another man's treasure" saying does not stay in effect. Please remember to throw out your garbage, let's keep it clean folks!

Another highlight was that I met some wonderful people, although for a short time. Visual Beats Productions is the name of their group and they film and produce awesome videos (https://www.facebook.com/VisualBeats/). They were here to capture the beauty of Hatila with their skills. We were able to watch and learn how fish were caught. It was cool to see the whole process.
