Fun things to do in Chishang

Activities aside from bicycle

Because Chishang is famous to its bicycle path, Did you know that there are some fun things to do aside of riding a bicycle?

Dapo pond gave me a fun experienced here in Chishang where mostly people whose paddling the boat, you could hear them saying “yi, er,san” and “fighting” as an indication that they are having a hard time paddling the boat. Even so, this activity is exciting as it'll give you a different experience. From this activity, it allows you to cut the lotus flowers and bring it with you.

Moreover, there’s a place that you can able to catch a fish or a frog, it's your choice to decide which one you wanted to catch. This was my first time to experience to catch a frog.

This is the famous thing to do here in Chishang. If you wanted to have an exotic food, you should try to give it a visit. It was my first time to eat a fried frog. The taste has a resemblance to a fried chicken but way tastier. Addition to that, you can catch a fish or frog whilst eating.

Dip your body in a nippy water

Chishang has a scorching heat weather, I feel like I wanted to live in a fridge. Through a help of a farmer, I discovered this place, where he took us in the river. Yes! In the river, the water is gelid, even a beer could make it cold. Unfortunately, this is not open for public. But they can able to let you swim in here if you’re going with two or three people. As much as possible, they don’t want this place to be crowded.

Night life in Chishang

Yes, nightlife in chishang do exists. I went to poco a poco a music museum nearby dapo pond to watch a live music for free. Yes, for free! Moreover, they do provide free snack such as biscuits and candies. Poco a poco music education foundation (Dapochi Music Museum) is a place where you can able to watch movies, listen to music, play music etc.

This guy is an aboriginal singer. I was amazed by his voice. I even stamped my feet and nodded my head as if I knew what he was singing. I felt connected through his music. I think this is a good part of music. It influences feelings and emotions. Even my eyes went teary although it was not a sad song.

Aside from live music, If you are a movie buff this place is perfect for you as you can able to watch movie for free. Here in Chishang, they have some event like movie open for public, where you can able to watch a movie in an open field nearby hakka cultural museum. The movie that I’ve watched was “Long time No sea”. For a tourist like me that can’t able to understand Chinese language, don’t worry. The movie has an English subtitle, so you can able to watch it.

Animal lover? You are welcome here!!

There is a Chishang Pastoral Farm waiting for you. As we went around the place, you can find many animals from here such as Zibra, ostrich, horse, cows and many more. Beforehand, this place used as sugar mill. In 1994, they revived the place as a pastoral farm and open for public.

This place is not too famous even some locals doesn't know about this place Also, it offers a historical site as it displayed here the “little mongolia”, which you can able to see the heath scenery of Mongolia.

Having a date? You have a sweet place over here. This is a love bell, with an over looking scenery. Couples can ring the bell together while making a wish which could bring more healthy and long relationship.
