The Modern Hostel: Fun Inn Taipei

With the sudden growth and abundance of hostels all around the world, there are now many different kinds of hostels that can fit your travel preferences perfectly. If you like friendly staff, spacious beds, female or male only rooms, big lounge areas, a cafeteria, and modern interior design, Fun Inn Taipei is the hostel for you.

Fun Inn Taipei is located at the Zhongzheng district in Taipei. It is only a few minutes walk away from the Ximen MRT station, Ximending shopping district, and Taipei Main Station. It's prime location is ideal since it is so close to the different forms of public transportation that Taipei offers. It is also close to several must-see tourist attractions, such as the Ximending shopping district, Taipei Old North Gate and Ximen Red House, among others.

Fun Inn Taipei is a hostel that is distributed to several floors in one building. It boasts a wide range of amenities, such as a big lounge area, a dining area, a kitchen, cozy sofas, a widescreen TV, public computers, board games, magazines, newspapers, maps, a laundry area, and others. The whole basement of the building is dedicated just to the lounge, so it's a space that can accommodate a lot of travelers at a time, and is conducive for meeting new friends, interacting with others, sharing stories, or just killing time.

An interesting amenity that they offer is the second-hand station, where you can find various items left behind by previous guests at the Inn. Current guests can use these items, so that they would not go to waste. The concept of this service is rooted in environmental consciousness, and frankly, I find it to be an ingenious idea.

They also have a wide variety of rooms that they offer. Some rooms are men only or women only, while some are mixed. They also have rooms with single beds or double beds, depending on your needs. The room that I stayed in was a women only dormitory-style room with four beds, four lockers, and one bathroom. The bed was quite spacious and bright compared to some other hostels I've been to, and each night I slept there, I got a good night's sleep.

The staff are also incredibly friendly and energetic. At the reception, you can consult for travel recommendations, book tours, reserve taxis to the airport, and many more. They also rent out or sell travel necessities such as luggage weighing scales, plug adapters, usb chargers, towels, toiletries, and even make-up!

My stay in Fun Inn Taipei lasted only for a few days, but based on my experience, I am confident enough to recommend it to travelers who come to Taipei. The quality of the facilities made for a very relaxing and enjoyable living experience. Aside from being just a living space for a few nights, this hostel also encourages meeting new people and forming lasting and precious memories.
